How do I use Video Speed Controller Pro?

After installing, a small speed indicator appears on any HTML5 video. Use keyboard shortcuts to adjust speed: press S to decrease, D to increase, R to reset to 1x, and Z to rewind. All shortcuts are fully customizable in the extension settings. The extension works on YouTube, Netflix, Coursera, Udemy, and virtually any website with video content.

Is Video Speed Controller Pro safe?

Yes. The extension only requests two permissions: storage (to save your settings) and access to web pages (to detect and control videos). It collects no personal data, has no analytics tracking, and is fully open for review on the Chrome Web Store. It uses Manifest V3, Google's latest and most secure extension architecture.

Does it work on Brave and Edge?

Yes. Video Speed Controller Pro works on all Chromium-based browsers including Google Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge, Opera, and Vivaldi. Brave users can install directly from the Chrome Web Store. Edge users can install from the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store.

Why is Video Speed Controller not working?

If the speed overlay doesn't appear: (1) Refresh the page after installing, (2) Check that the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions, (3) Make sure the site isn't in your blacklist, (4) Some sites use DRM-protected video players that may limit speed control. If issues persist, try disabling other extensions that might conflict, or contact us at hello@tinyflash.org.

What are the keyboard shortcuts?

Default shortcuts: S = decrease speed, D = increase speed, R = reset to 1x, Z = rewind 10 seconds, X = advance 10 seconds, V = show/hide controller, P = play/pause. All shortcuts can be customized in the extension options page. Shortcuts only activate when you're not typing in a text field.

Can I set different speeds for different websites?

Yes! Video Speed Controller Pro has per-domain speed memory. When you enable "Remember speed by domain" in settings, the extension saves your preferred speed for each website separately. Set YouTube to 2x, Netflix to 1.5x, and your LMS to 1.75x — each site remembers its own speed automatically.
