How to use Order History Downloader

Step 1: install OHD

Add Order History Downloader from the Chrome Web Store. It ships as a Manifest V3 extension and installs in any Chromium-family browser version 100 or newer: Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, and Opera. Mobile and Android are not supported, and there are no plans to add them. The desktop browser is the only place an extension has the API surface to pull order history cleanly.

Pin the OHD icon to your toolbar after install. Right-click the icon in the Extensions menu, choose Pin, and the receipt icon stays visible whenever you need it. One click is faster than digging into the Extensions overflow menu every time.

Step 2: pick your retailer

Open a retailer’s order-history page and click the OHD icon, or press the keyboard shortcut. The popup recognises the page and shows the right importer. On a non-retailer page, the popup shows the five-tile retailer picker so you can navigate to one of the supported URLs in a single click.

Step 3: run your first import (Amazon walkthrough)

Amazon is the canonical example because it covers every field OHD captures: per-line item prices, VAT or GST or MwSt, refund amounts and dates, payment-method last-4, and ship-to plus billing addresses. Walking through Amazon end-to-end is the fastest way to learn how OHD behaves on every other retailer.

1. 1. Navigate to your Amazon orders

   Sign in to amazon.com (or .co.uk, .de, .ca, .fr, .it, .es, .nl, .pl, .se), then visit amazon.com/your-orders/orders. OHD reads the storefront from the host so the right tax label, currency, and UI language land in your CSV automatically.

2. 2. Click the OHD icon

   Or press Cmd+Shift+E (Mac) / Ctrl+Shift+E (Windows or Linux). The popup opens pre-aware of the Amazon storefront and shows the year-filter dropdown plus the field-pref toggle matrix.

3. 3. Pick a year filter

   Past 3 months, past 6 months, an explicit year, or All time. OHD reads the same filter values Amazon’s own UI exposes, so the date-range options match the page you’re on. For pre-2021 orders the page no longer shows, drop your Amazon GDPR ZIP later in the flow.

4. 4. Tick any field-pref toggles you want

   Each toggle shows its per-order time cost: VAT/tax (+1.5s), refund amount and date (+0.8s), payment method (+0.4s), ship-to + billing addresses (+0.4s), line-item prices (+1.5s), gift flags (+0.2s). The cost estimator footer updates live as you tick boxes: “Estimate based on 85 orders: 2 to 4 minutes.” No surprises.

5. 5. Click Import

   The popup closes and a small floating chip appears in the bottom-right corner of the page. The chip shows the live page-and-order progress, plus a Stop button if you want to abort.

Import complete, click Open to launch the viewer.

Step 4: use the viewer

The viewer is a full-tab page that renders your imported rows in four tabs: Orders, Items, Shipments, and Insights. The default Orders tab is sortable, searchable, and filterable, with a sticky toolbar at the top, a stat strip showing total spend, and a sigma row at the bottom that gives per-currency subtotals for any selection.

Filter bar

Status, currency, account, hide-cancelled, recurring-only, date range, and amount range. The filters compose: showing only Apple Music renewals from 2024 in USD is three clicks. Filters persist across viewer reloads, so a recurring monthly cycle opens with your filters already set.

Group by

Month, quarter, year, retailer, payment method, or currency. Group-by-month drops a subtotal row between buckets, which is how a bookkeeper gets a monthly P&L snapshot without any spreadsheet work.

Insights tab

Three inline-SVG panels: spend by month over the last 24 months, top retailers by total spend, and year-over-year comparison. The Insights tab is read-only and regenerates whenever you re-import. For a deeper yearly breakdown, see the Amazon yearly spending report guide.

Step 5: export

Three formats. Pick the one that matches the tool downstream.

Bulk PDF

Select up to 50 rows in the viewer, click Bulk PDF, and OHD streams the receipts through client-zip into a single ZIP. Approximately 30 seconds per batch. The ZIP includes a README.txt manifest with the order IDs and any rows that were skipped (Apple rows, for example, are skipped because Apple has no per-order receipt URL).

Per-retailer quickstarts

eBay

URL: ebay.com/mye/myebay/v2/purchase.

22-year reach, every other tool caps at 2 years. Pick All 22 years in the popup year filter to pull the full account back to 2002. See eBay 22-year purchase history for the full walkthrough.

Target

URL: target.com/account/orders. Order ID, item titles, line totals, refund dates, and order-level totals are captured. If you need additional fields like tax or payment method per Target order, send a note from the extension’s Feedback tab so we can prioritise.

Costco

URL: costco.com/myaccount/orders.

Online and warehouse-pickup orders import together. Costco’s auth headers are captured by an interceptor when the page loads, so refresh the orders page before clicking Import to keep the captured-header window fresh. See Costco purchase history.

Apple Receipts

URL: reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple has no “your orders” page, so the report-a-problem flow is the only buyer-facing surface where receipts live. Apple Music, iCloud+, TV+, Apple Developer Program renewals are auto-flagged as recurring. Tax and payment method are not captured, Apple’s API doesn’t expose them. See Apple receipts export.
